Urethritis

This is one of the most common types of bladder infections. It is the inflammation of the urethra. Urethra is basically the tube through which urine passes from the bladder outside the human body.

Urethritis is the main cause behind the burning sensation felt by women while urinating. This condition can result in infection of the entire urinary system. This condition is common in women because in women, the urethras are found very close to the anus.

Cystitis

All types of urinary infections are called bladder infections but cystitis is truly the inflammation or infection of the urinary bladder. Women with Urethritis have an increased chance of getting cystitis.


In this condition, the bacteria makes it way up from the urethra to the bladder. This condition can also be caused if there is some kind of an obstacle in emptying the urine from the bladder.

Pyelonephritis

This is a type of bladder infection that affects the kidneys. Kidneys do the work of filtering blood out of water and waste products allowing the nutrients and proteins to circulate in the urinary system.

Waste products and water are further used by the kidneys in making urine. Pyelonephritis is a condition caused due to the worsening of urinary infections where bacteria makes it way up to the kidneys.
