Psychosocial Treatments

Psychosocial treatments help a schizophrenia patient in learning coping skills for handling everyday challenges. These treatments though counseling helps the doctor in identifying the correct medication required for treating schizophrenia.

These therapies also help in building skills for attain goals like going to college, or school, or work place, doing everyday activities properly, etc. Some of the commonly used psychosocial treatments are cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), family therapy, cognitive remediation therapy (CMT), and Metacognitive training.
