National Health and Medical Research Council Recommendations
The National Health and Medical Research Council recommends annual flu shot for everyone aged six months or older who want to reduce the likelihood of becoming diseased with flu. Flu vaccination is strongly recommended for certain groups including:
- People aged 65 years or over
- Pregnant women
- All kids six months through 4 years old
- Anyone who has weakened immune system from illness
- All health care professionals
- Native Americans and Alaskan natives
Since the infected virus circulates the globe constantly, it is must to get a shot every year. Get the flu shot as soon as it is available in your surrounding areas. Early immunization is very effective, but it is not too late to get a shot in December, January or even beyond.
