Diphtheria is a bacterial infection caused by coryne bacterium diphtheria. This bacterium mainly affects the membranes of the respiratory tract, which is the condition called as respiratory diphtheria.

Diphtheria leads to respiratory failures in most of the cases. Person with diphtheria experience the lung inflammation caused by filling up the lungs by small tiny particles of the membranes. Patient may lose his lungs function resulting in lung diseases.

Pneumococcal meningitis is also a bacterial lung infection caused by bacteria pneumococcal. It is caused by bacteria or virus but less commonly fungi. It affects the lungs when a person inhales the germs and causes respiratory system blockage. Finally leads to various lung infections.

Tuberculosis and Lung Infection:

Tuberculosis is a life threatening disease caused by bacterium tuberculosis. It mainly affects the lungs and also some other parts of the body like brain, kidney, etc.

When a person gets in contact with TB infected person, the infected germs enters into the lungs via sneezing, cough etc. The bacterium begins to grow in number and causes inflammation of alveoli of lungs. Hence, lungs fail to function properly.

Legionnaires Disease and Lung Infection:

Legionnaire’s disease is also called as Legionellosis. It is the serious disease caused by bacteria belongs to Legionella species. This disease is a type of pneumonia mainly affects lungs causing lung infection.
