Cataracts appear in the lens of the eye. People who are diagnosed with cataracts generally need to be very careful with the treatment procedure.

This is because if the treatment is not carried out in the best way possible, the cataracts might get bigger and then they would need a surgery. Like many other surgeries, there are also certain Cataract surgery side effects involved.

Cataract surgery will be recommended for removing the cataract and replacing the lens with some kind of artificial lens, which is also called as intraocular lens.

There are people who are not able to tolerate these artificial lenses. For such people soft contact lenses or high magnification corrective lenses might be recommended.
